Introduction

༄༅། །གནས་ལུགས་རིན་པོ་ཆེའི་མཛོད་ཅེས་བྱ་བ་བཞུགས།

རྒྱ་གར་སྐད་དུ། ཏ་ཐ་ཏྭ་རཏྣ་ཀོ་ཥ་ནཱ་མ།

བོད་སྐད་དུ། གནས་ལུགས་རིན་པོ་ཆེའི་མཛོད་ཅེས་བྱ་བ།

དཔལ་ཀུན་ཏུ་བཟང་པོ་ལ་ཕྱག་འཚལ་ལོ།^[1]^[2]

།གདོད་ནས་སངས་རྒྱས་མངོན་པར་བྱང་ཆུབ་གཞི།
།མི་འགྱུར་ལྷུན་གྲུབ་རྡོ་རྗེ་སྙིང་པོའི་དབྱིངས།
།སེམས་ཉིད་རང་བཞིན་རྫོགས་པ་ཆེན་པོ་ལ།
།བཏང་བཞག་འགྲོ་འོང་མེད་པས་ཕྱག་འཚལ་ལོ།^[3]^[4]

།ཆོས་རྣམས་རང་བཞིན་བརྗོད་དུ་མེད་པའི་ཀློང༌།
།ལྟ་བའི་ཡང་རྩེ་རྫོགས་པ་ཆེན་པོ་ནི།
།གང་དང་མི་འདྲ་ཀུན་ལས་འདས་པའི་དོན།
།ཇི་ལྟར་བདག་གིས་རྟོགས་བཞིན་བཤད་ཀྱིས་ཉོན།^[5]^[6]

།སེམས་ཀློང་མན་ངག་སྙིང་པོའི་མཐར་ཐུག་དོན།
།མེད་པ་ཕྱལ་པ་ལྷུན་གྲུབ་གཅིག་པུ་སྟེ།
།རེ་རེའང་གནད་བཀྲོལ་འགག་བསྡམས་ཆིངས་སུ་བཅིངས།
།ལ་བཟླའི་དོན་དང་རྣམ་པ་བཞི་བཞིར་གནས།^[7] ^[8]

↑ Homage to glorious Samantabhadra!
↑ Homage to glorious Samantabhadra!
↑ Buddha from the first,
The ground of actual enlightenment,
Beyond all change and present of itself,
The space of adamantine essence, indestructible—
This is the nature of the mind,
The natural great perfection.
Nothing do I take and nothing do I cast aside—
Nothing comes and nothing goes.
Thus it is that I bow down in homage.
↑ Primordial buddhahood, the ground of fully evident enlightenment,
unchanging, spontaneously present, the basic space of the vajra heart essence
the nature of mind is natural great perfection.
I pay homage to this, with nothing to discard or adopt, nothing to come or go.
↑ The expanse of the nature inexpressible of all phenomena,
The culmination of all views and different from them all,
The all-transcending meaning of the Great Perfection
I shall now explain according to my realization.
Listen!
↑ The expanse of the inexpressible nature of phenomena,
the very pinnacle of view, is great perfection.
Listen as I explain, according to my realization,
the meaningfulness of that which transcends everything and is unlike anything else.
↑ The ultimate and quintessential view
Belonging to the mind, space, pith instruction classes
Lies in nonexistence, evenness,
Spontaneous presence, single nature.
Each of these four has in turn four aspects:
Their key points are revealed, essentialized, subsumed,
A clear conviction is then gained in their regard.
↑ For the categories of Mind, Expanse, and Direct Transmission, the consummate meaning of the heart essence
is that of ineffability, openness, spontaneous presence, and oneness.
Each of these has four divisions: revealing the key point, discerning the implications,
embracing the larger scope, and coming to the decisive experience.
